Job Summary:

The Team Leader acts as the CEO for their assigned account/segment. Team Leaders are producing managers – responsible for leading others as well as personally driving/contributing to client retention, expansion, and acquisition of new stores/accounts. The Team Lead’s year over year expectation is to profitably grow their account/segment within the capital or resource budget.


What You’ll Do:

  • Establish a strategic plan and annual/quarterly strategies to profitably grow the Customer account/segment, including a business case for adding resource to their team, field, etc
  • Build an effective account/segment team, including clearly defining team member roles, expectations, and all staffing decisions (hire, terminate, promote, re-deploy, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with the Field with the ability to communicate and execute the defined strategy or alternatively, finding other channels to serve their clients when field engagement is impractical (e.g., interior calls)
  • Lead, support, and coach NAMs, House Account owners and Account Executive sales efforts, serving as the top visionary seller including holding sales representatives accountable for growth within the account
  • Build relationships with the most influential buyers within your customer account and coach National Account Managers and Account Executives to do the same
  • Travel may be required in support of growing accounts and/or securing new business
  • Manage Account/Team resources to profitably grow account and meet or beat budget expectations – manage the P&
  • Conduct periodic (at least quarterly) reviews to gauge client satisfaction
  • Manage team members and develop their abilities to increase sales, grow the business as well as be efficient, productive and act with urgency. Is the direct manager of Operations Managers for the customer account.
  • Time Allocation:
    • Client relationship development, strategy and selling (40%),
    • Team management (20%),
    • Field engagement (20%),
    • Account analysis/planning (10%),
    • and Operational troubleshooting (10%)


What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or masters. MBA, a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Salesforce, a plus.
  • Possesses and demonstrates a proactive, entrepreneurial work style; able to work independently
  • Strong ability to think strategically and creatively using analytics and big data
  • Experience managing a P&L, and a budget
  • Is enthusiastic, dynamic and has a positive, and engaging personality. Loves to interact with customers and is unafraid of rejection.
  • Is friendly and supportive, develops long-term relationships with customers. Is passionate about delivering excellent customer service. Has an equal blend of patience and assertiveness.
  • Must be able to mentor, coach and train on operations and sales
  • Must embrace innovation and technology as a solution and is an active collaborator with IT to create solutions for the customer
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining a professional demeanor when handling stressful situations.
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple projects/assignments simultaneously and completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Remains focused on the goal and leverages resources to reach that goal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on feet.
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience conveying information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused, and concise manner.
